Hello fellow Lifter! So happy that you joined our community. We are called Lifters Coalition, in short LC. This page is to orient you, and we hope you feel comfortable.
1️⃣ 🐾First step: if you have been sent this, you have filled out the application form. If not, feel free to do so.
2️⃣ 🐾Most of the communication is in real spaces and in our community chat, which is on WhatsApp. You have been added here already if you filled out a form. Otherwise, contact us.
Few Guidelines - No spam. Be kind. No NSFW or obscene. Easy…
On the whatsapp, there are a few channels.
🪩Announcements: This is the default and read-only channel for updates. If this is the only one yo are in it will be enough to hear about highlights.
🪩Organise here for arranging community sessions. If you want to shout out, you are going to be in the gym - that is the place.
🪩 Chit-chat is for chatting, and we are pro-banter. If you find it noisy, it is ok to opt out of the channel.
🪩 Useful info is to share educational content, articles, videos, and papers around lifting. Or Health and women's wellbeing.
🟢Better Classes: this is an area dedicated to comms on lifting classes run by better. The booking happens on better app.
🪩Foundation/+ and its Cohorts - These are only for foundation/+ programme attendees.
Other channels - these change often and you can see all the channels from te community information once you are in.
Pull up girlies: for people who challenge themselves to lift their bodyweight
SNAX: for daily movement challenges, ezewrcise snacks
3️⃣ 🐾Community sessions: You will find the community beneficial for lifting together. Community sessions are not classes, and everyone is there as individual lifters coming to the gym. They are organised by you and your fellow lifters by simply announcing on the WA. Use “organise here” channel on WhatsApp to organise and lift with others, practising safe lifting and spotting for each other. Assume all are NOT trained to teach, and attending means you understand this is a community session. You all will watch for each other, share knowledge,, and lift together. Also, it is ok to hibernate, stay quiet and not attend. We do not want you to feel overwhelmed.

If you are a newbie, it is advisable to attend a few lifting classes to learn the technique. Currently, we are running classes in Better gyms - Lifting Women only. And secondly in the community sessions, focus on your own heavy s everyone is different. It is ok and very normal if you need to change the weight up or down.
